Every morning we prepare the dough for our pizzas using our own recipe.
We take the greatest care with each ingredient so that customers can enjoy the products of the land as fresh and natural as possible. All this has led to us being recognised as serving one of the best pizzas on the Costa Brava: https://www.timeout.cat/girona/ca/restaurants/les-millors-pizzes-de-la-costa-brava
It's not easy to find a restaurant which is not strictly a pizzeria that is notable for its pizzas, but El Volantí in L’Escala is an exception. The choice of pizzas is limited, but all the options are worthwhile.
The dough in the pizzas is one of those fluffy, spongy ones and there is a generous amount of mozzarella on them as well as a unique choice of ingredients. We recommend the Escalenca pizza, that pays homage to the town in which the restaurant is located, with genuine anchovies from L’Escala, sardines and capers, and their Nordic pizza, with an original combination of salmon and cod, which is very tasty.
The other great reason to visit El Volantí is the impressive views of L’Escala you get from the restaurant. If you have enough time, ask for a table on the terrace and allow yourselves to be carried away by the immensity of the sea."
